Why replace the shock on an R nineT
The stock unit adjusts for preload only, not damping, and cannot be serviced: after a few tens of thousands of kilometres it gets replaced. The Shock Factory adjusts to the behaviour you want, can be serviced at the Sermérieu workshop and stays with the bike.
M-SHOCK or M-SHOCK 2
M-SHOCK: synchronised adjustment. One knob, 48 clicks; close it to firm up, open it to soften, the compression/rebound ratio stays right. The road choice.
M-SHOCK 2: two independent knobs, one for compression, one for rebound. For the rider who tunes for the circuit and the weather.
Height
Standard: 372 mm eye-to-eye, against 369 mm stock. Lowered: 362 mm eye-to-eye, 19 mm lower at the seat than stock.
Our advice on the R nineT
An R nineT weighs over 220 kg and its Paralever works the shock through its whole travel. On this bike we recommend the M-SHOCK 2: compression and rebound adjust separately, so the bike can be tuned to your weight, your riding and your roads without trading comfort for control. The M-SHOCK remains the right choice for road use without fine tuning.

Built to your measure
Each shock is assembled in Sermérieu (Isère, France) to the rider's weight. After your order, we ask you by e-mail for your weight in riding gear, how often you ride two-up, your passenger's weight and your luggage weight. Allow about two weeks between order and dispatch, shipped directly from the Shock Factory workshop. 2-year warranty, unlimited mileage.
